Meet Mr. Beau, he is a mix of Pit Bull and Greyhound, so is quite a striking animal. He's young, about 2 yrs., and has a lot of puppy still in him, but at 65 lbs., is quite a large puppy. He looks like and has the strength of a Pit but had the body and speed of a Greyhound. People always comment on how handsome he is! Truly and honestly, he is the sweetest and smartest dog we have ever had, hands down. He is a supreme snuggler, thinks he's a lap dog, and is definitely a Lover Boy and a Play Boy. He has successfully been through training so knows his commands, and is generally a great house dog. Not least, he's a 'talker', and will often growl/yodel at you like Chewbacca from Star Wars. Once you meet him, you won't forget him! However, like all Pits, he requires lots of exercise and discipline, and has developed minor skin allergies, which we've controlled through diet and antihistamines.Mr.Beau would also do best as an only dog in an established older family,with no other pets or small children. We hate to give him up, but our increasingly busy lives aren't doing justice to this amazing dog.
The adoption center is open from 2 pm - 6 pm everyday! We are located at 415 Campbell Avenue SW in downtown Roanoke, a block from the Police Station.
All pets are up to date on shots, combo or HW tested, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. All pets with the second name 'Biscuit' are neglect and/or cruelty cases brought to Angels of Assisi by animal control. Angels of Assisi has a lifetime commitment to all the animals adopted from our Adoption Guarantee shelter. If at anytime you cannot continue to provide a home for your adopted pet, we will take him or her back into the adoption center until another home can be found.
